Lax Waters…beer

September 17th, 2008

Busy week last week. A lot of our Adrenaline Apparel retailers are closing there books for the fiscal year and we need to get them what they need and they need to pay up.

Haha

We had a ridiculously fun weekend down at the beach. My boys at Smartlink won it all. They won by about 13 goals in the championship, and it wasn’t even that close. BK put a SOLID team together. Greg Vetter on defense and Spencer Ford and Buggsy on offense led the way for Smartlink, which was stacked. Rubeor, Dixon, and Conor Ford were also part of the deadly offense, which definitely frequented Seacrets and/or the pool bar in between games.

Ive attached a few pics I took from my weak-ass iPhone (which cant hold a charge to save its life) of Seacrets on Saturday, what a place. Wesley Snipes and his entourage even made an appearance - doesn’t he owe the IRS like 2 million? Greg Vetter’s wife Genevieve (organizes the smartlink team) and her lady friends even got to sit down and hang out with Wesley Snipes while we were there on Saturday…that was pretty random.

Congrats to the women’s Adrenaline squad that Bethany Carey put together. They went undefeated for a second straight year and won it all. Good work! The guys adrenaline team didn’t do too well. I think the 4 a.m. bedtime/8 a.m. game combo didn’t work out too well for them. I also heard they were called one morning at 8:50 for 9 a.m. game…Brutal.

The Blue Bird team is always fun to watch. CC, Fellows, Berry are some Blue Bird staples. The team was anchored by Kevin Boland’s offense and Greg Raymond’s D skills. Berger hung out on the sideline and somewhat coached, somewhat crushed lax waters (that’s cervesa - credit Berger and Boland), and it was all around a great weekend.

This weekend is a big one. MLL championships up in Boston. I am resting up this week (if you call this rest), doing some private lessons, a little lifting, working on getting Lax World as one of our new retailers and lots of shooting with my boy BV. Rochester is going to be tough on Saturday in the semi-finals, but like one of our teammates said, it’s hard to beat a team three times in one season.

GLuck to all the squads this weekend, and the only thing the Barrage are thinking right now is beat Rochester first, then 3-peat. Not being cocky, just confident like the past 2 years.

August 12th, 2008

Whats GOOD? Sorry for the 2 week MIA. It’s been ridiculously busy with Adrenaline, MLL, my camps finishing up (yuuuuuuup, see below for credits), and beachin it!

We clinched a playoff birth last week in Boston.  Doc was out and Kevin Keenan (aka clipboard Keenan from other MLL players) stepped in and received Bud Light MVP honors with about 27 saves; sick performance.  Unfortunately I was unable to make the game in Boston last week cus my flight sat was cancelled. YUP, cancelled.  I sat on the runway in Baltimore for about 6 hours, as I just kept looking at my clock and texting my teammates what was going on.

Weather was to blame, FAA wasn’t allowing any flights into Boston, NY, NJ, etc. Can’t really do anything about it, but I missed a game that was critical, and that made me pretty mad.   I finally got off the plane in Baltimore after going nowhere for about 7 hours.  On the flip side the team won, I headed to the beach the next morning, and since we clinched again it’s my 3rd straight trip to the playoffs.  Really excited to play up in Boston in a few weeks for the MLL championships, everyone needs to WATCH!!! We need viewers!! The Barrage need to start thinking 3PEAT!  Maybe ill get some custom cleats like college that say 3peat??

Just got back from Portland Oregon this morning for our game this past weekend, wow what a town!! The people out there are really nice, somewhat hippy-ish (is that a word?) but really love lax.  Saw a ton of the Adrenaline socks on the kids that came to the game so that’s great to see.  Portland is a beautiful CLEAN city that sits on the river and I could easily see a team (hopefully not ours) moving out that way in the next few years. They already have an indoor team and a decent base of lacrosse fans so I could see Portland and Cary NC being 2 new sites for expansion in the MLL.

I also got to see owner and ceo of BIGFOOT LACROSSE  Jon Stevens, while I was there.  He helped put on the event in Oregon and it was a great success. All the Oregon laxers need to check out Bigfoot, they carry all the latest adrenaline apparel and they flat out dominate.  The store is state of the art too.

So back to the game, we lost in OT, but I think it’s good to get that loss out of the way before the playoffs in 2 weeks.  Rekowski scored the game winner and the garbage were laughing cus everyone jumped on him and piled up like they had just won the national championship. But in fact they won a meaningless game that just boosted there stats. Hahaha but seriously who makes a pile up? We’ve had at least 3 OT wins in the past 3 years, in bigger, more meaningful games and we’ve never piled up after the goal.  I know some of the guys on the Jersey squad were thinking what the hell are you guys doing?  Seriously though, the crowd definitely enjoyed it, and when it comes down to this league succeeding, that’s all that matters.  So, good work Jersey.

Pretty bummed for my cousin Berger, he blew out his knee last week against Rochester.  I know exactly how he feels having my ACL torn my first year in the league with Rochester.  It’s a long recovery and a tough road but I know he can do it.  He is seeing Dr. Matthews (the Ravens team doc who also did Kelly Berger’s Knee) tomorrow and will figure out a surgery time in the next few weeks.  I am hoping he is back in action for the first game next year.  When I tore mine I got surgery Sept. 1 and was ready to rock for the first game in Mid May.

Our whole family was at the beach this past week, which was a great time.  It was really good to see our granddad, who isn’t doing that well with his cancer.  My mom is one of 7 so all the aunts, uncles, cousins, etc were down and it’s always good to see them and spend some time with them.  I attached a few pics of us POSTIN UP at the beach.  Rabil came down too and kicked it with us all week since he is dating Berger’s sister Kelly. He just inked a deal with Maverik, which is pretty sick.  Kelly Paul and I were sitting around on the beach brainstorming and drawing logos in the sand for him. Be on the look out for a sick Paul Rabil logo, that’s all im gonna say.   We had some good times, good eats, and I am excited to go back to the beach this weekend for the old OC lax tourney. I love getting down there and seeing all those idiots (red sox reference, not actually idiots but my meathead friends) that I haven’t seen in a while.  I can’t play in the tournament since we are still in season but the guys who aren’t in the MLL playoffs are allowed to play.  Im headed down to hand out Adrenaline stuff to our Mens and Womens Adrenaline teams.  A bunch of teams will be ROCKING the socks down there too, be on the lookout!!  Im predicting BK’s SMARTLINK team to win it all.

Everyone have a good week and I will catch up next week.

Ps- been meaning to do this.  Shwartzman needs some love for all the “yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuups” that have been going around.  He pretty much started the extended  “yuuuuuup” and berger and I have just taken it to the next level. Whether its at lax camp or just hangin out, the phrase “yuuuuuuuup” was influnced by Jesse.  So I wanted to give him credit.  Hahaha

yupppppppppppppppp

July 9th, 2008

Hope all is well and everyone had a good fourth of July. Its been a hectic few weeks with camps and games.

Last weeks game in Boston was pretty sweet. We jumped out to the early lead and let it slip a way a little bit. Docs play was ON POINT as usual and the barrage got it done on the road with a pretty tough Boston crowd.

The hotels we stay at around the league are usually pretty decent. I think Boston has by far the best Hotel stay in the league. Ive attached a picture from my VIP penthouse. Haha not really, but this is the ballroom level on the top floor.

I cruised up and snapped a pic of the skyline which overlooks Beantown and the Charles River. You can vaguely see the famous Citgo sign which hovers over Fenway Park. Hate Red Sox nation but they have one heck of a stadium and awesome fan base.

Berger and I ran our first camp down at the beach last week. We had a great time down there with a pretty good turnout. Kelly Berger ran the girls camp, while Rabil, Bergs and I dominated the guys camp. We were about three blocks from the beach in Rehoboth and the house we rented was a few miles down the beach in Bethany. Dewey was right down the road, and we def. got some famous Grottos Pizza while we were there too. The community where we stayed was right on the golf course, so that was pretty sweet. Our backyard was a nice little par 3. About an 7 or 8 Iron lay up. Pitching wedge for Rabil.

Mancini’s Italian restaurant in Fenwick wed night was pretty epic. haha I would STRONGLY suggest dining at Mancini’s for anyone heading down to Fenwick, Dewey, OC, etc. We had some good eats and Mr. Mancini the owner took care of us like we were the mafia!

Big game this week Thursday night in Jersey, we need to keep up the energy and get everyone healthy for these next few weeks.

We are out in LA next week, with a little Adrenaline work to get done in San Diego early in the week before the game. Probably help out Hochy and Xander on thurs and Fri with some Starz lacrosse activities while getting Adrenaline stuff done earlier in the week. We are finalizing all our new designs this week for Adrenaline, so be on the look out for some ridiculous new stuff this upcoming year. Everyone have a good week, and one last thing before I go………

Who knows how to string a good pita pocket traditional? I need a new one, and will hook someone up with a bunch of the new Adrenaline gear and maybe some free issues of Inside lacrosse (hahaha if Jiloty lets me) if they can do perfect the pita pocket. I will email sample pics of the specific pocket upon request. Smitty@Adrenalinelacrosse.com. Thanks!!

camp camp camp

July 9th, 2008

It was a Busy week for Berger and I…sorry my blog game hasn’t been up to par.

We started our Hotbed camps (girls and guys) this week in Carroll County MD, with three more camps to follow. Camp went well, weather was perfect, and we had no crying kids or angry parents - can’t beat that.

Our first guest appearance of the camp was Paul Rabil. Paul cruised up on Wednesday did a little talk about lax, life, and how he used to be in the campers shoes when he was little. He answered questions and told all the kids that he never even played lacrosse until he was in 7th grade. Kids were pretty excited about that, and it gave some of them some much needed confidence. Bergs, Paul and I then did a shooting demo teaching the kids the proper way to shoot on the run, time and room, and inside. Our accuracy contest was won by the underdog….ME. Paul signed some autographs then headed out, as all the girls at the camp were very, very disappointed to see him leave…

Our next guest the following day was our boy Jesse Schwartzman. Jesse did a talk about how important it is to be playing all sports, and how important it was that they were attending camp and not sitting at home playing video games. He said that all 60 of our kids were getting better than those 60 kids sitting at home. Again, a much needed confidence booster for some of the kids at camp. Jesse stayed for half a day, walked around to the different age groups and pretty much dominated. We then proceeded to crush “Cozy Corner” subs for lunch. The best subs in Carroll county.

The last guest was MLL all star Kyle Dixon. We did a little shootaround, told the kids some stories, and signed some autographs. Kyle told the kids about four times that he went to the University of Virginia (kids were not listening to the other kids questions, or the introduction), and then proceeded to answer a ton of questions about how fast his shot was, when he started playing etc…

We had a great camp, tons of giveaways, and a killer water balloon launching contest to end the camp. Next up is our camp in Rehobeth Beach starting this Sunday. We will have Paul, Myself, Berger and Kylor Berkman there teaching the kids all week. Kelly Berger is running the womens portion of our camp down there, so im looking forward to a good time at the beach and some great weather.

Big game this weekend for the Barrage. We need to get a W. Doc hooked up practice tonight at College Park, right after the top 205 camp All Star game. Excited to get a good practice in and a solid Win tomorrow night against the bayhawks. DC is like a home game for me, being from Annapolis. Im pumped that my family and friends will be able to see our team in action. Last week down in Cary NC is behind us, we put up a good fight but we need to get back to our winning ways. Everyone have a good week, and I promise to UP my blog game, I know its been pretty weak.

Attached a picture of Paul and Berger at camp this week. Who thinks Paul’s headband should be his new Trademark??? Hahahaa. I think someone needs to make a special PR99 headband.

June 10th, 2008

2-2, Chi-town this weekend!

Another tough loss to a physical Long Island squad Thursday night.  We just aren’t playing team ball right now but we will be ok.  This weekend we play in St. Louis against Chicago, should be a great game.  We need to get back in the winning column.  Hopefully Docs shoulder is ok and he will be ready to play.  We also wish the best for Joe Ceglia who may have ended his season on a knee injury.  Unfortunately I am in one of my best friends wedding this weekend and wont be able to make the trip to St. Louis, so don’t be shocked when you don’t see me in the box score, hahaah just kidding.  But I wish the best of luck to our team and I really hope we get the W.

I had a knee injury my first year in the league with Rochester in 05, and it motivated me to work harder and come back stronger. I took a pass from Tillman, cleared the ball with Kyle Harrison chasing me.  He is fast, really fast, so I was trying to be faster.  Unfortunately the team didn’t have the right shoes for me, I was wearing the “nubby” turfs on old school dry turf. DO NOT DO THAT. You’re supposed to wear Basketball type shoes (flat bottom not nubby) for that type of “old school should be illegal turf”.  Anyway, make a long story short, I cut at about midfield and just about everyone heard a pop. ACL done.  Martin said he heard it from across the field (surprising considering there was probably 20,000 screaming MLL fans at Montclair state…….joke…) As I was laying there I knew that I had done something really bad, I actually thought I broke my leg.  I couldn’t sit still, and was in tons of pain.  I took it all as motivation and worked my ass off.  I know cegs will be back, hairy back and all.  Gluck Cegs

So I visited some Adrenaline accounts (Lax HUT what UPPPPP) on the Island last week and after a rainy practice Wednesday night I stayed at Nicky and Armando’s house.  Nicky Polanco and Armando are brothers and live together in Massapequa. Armando plays for the Barrage and Nicky plays for LI.  They have a PIMP place with a sick pool, tiki bar, flat screens, and a few real lizards. They live about 5 houses down from Spallina.  I got to stay in the extra bedroom which also host the 2 tanks of Lizards.  Harry Potter and Diesel are there names, both really cool and calm.

Ok so what’s with the terrible officiating in the NBA finals?  Free throws the other night; Boston had 38 and the Lakers had 10. If you give ANY team 28 more FREE throws they are going to win the game.  I think the refs are betting on the Celtics.  Back to LA for game three, Kobe and Odom will be ready for the challenge.  Im still picking the Lakers to win the series in 7 now.  I think they are a better team with much better coaching.

Going to shoot around with Berger and run some stairs.  Stairs are amazing for quickness, any of you kids out there that want to get faster I would suggest trying out stairs.  I have some good stair exercises so if anyone wants to know some specifics give me a shout.  Email: smitty@adrenalinelacrosse.com

I attached a hilarious picture of some laxed out dude from the US lacrosse convention last Jan.  He walks up to our booth and goes “hey, I got your logo tattooed on my leg”. We were like, ughhh why? Then we took a pic. Supposedly he really loves the logo, who dosent?  Take care have a cool weekend.

Rochester Beat Down!

June 3rd, 2008

ROCH-cha-cha

Well it didn’t plan out how we envisioned it. We played sloppy, casual, not barrage type lacrosse for about 3 quarters. Rochester is a good team, with some solid shooters. We didn’t play them to there off hands, and they looked like they were throwing a delicate egg around when they passed it on offense.

We did have a few spurts of Barrage type offense but those with limited with our time of possession being so low. Doc summed it up perfectly after the game saying “Fellas…. that may be just what we needed, a good old fashioned ass whooping”.

Needles to say, we don’t emphasize wins or talk about them too much, so we won’t emphasize this loss too much. We will prepare for our next game on Thursday in Long Island, practice Wednesday, and be ready for our ESPN2 summer debut. I think it airs at 9PM EST, game is at 7PM and it’s always live on ESPN360.com.

Long island had a pretty big win against a strong Boston squad who is missing the injured Mikey Powell. They put up some big numbers in that game with a 20-19 win in OT. After putting up 20, long island will be feeling a little better with that first win, and we need to be ready on defense and up to the challenge. I know that our defense will step up to the task and our offense will be back on track Thursday. Berger and Spence are going to have a handful with our angry D this week, I cant wait.

The trip to Rochester is always brutal, whether it’s a flight being cancelled or delayed, Alex Smith and I spending 10 hours in the airport together hungover, something ALWAYS happens.

Any predictions for the NBA Finals? I like Kobe and the Lakers, I went to a Lakers game last year and he is by far the best player I’ve seen LIVE. I’ve seen Jordan back in the old united stadium in Chicago, and I’ve seen him in the terrible Wizards uniforms a few years ago. Yup, you heard it here; I think Kobe is better than Jordan.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Jordan, and grew up trying to do his fadeaway jumper in my backyard day after day (in between imitating Christian Latteners buzzer beater in the final 4). Jordan obviously has more rings, and can be considered the best ever, but I think Kobe will eclipse Jordan’s greatness and break all the records.

Athletes are just plain better these days, and Kobe is going against far superior competition. I mean honestly, can you see Luke Longley or Bill Cartwright even stepping foot on an NBA floor these days?? Doubt it, and they STARTED. Jordan had pippen, Kobe had Shaq. Now Kobe really has to show what he has as a TEAM player and get another ring with a bunch of T-E-A-M players like Odom, Fischer, and Gasol.

Have a good week, off to STRONG ISLAND Thursday for a hometown game for all our meathead long island guys on the team. Sweet, the only place better than Long Island is Rochester…………obviously joking.

PS- attached is a sick pic someone sent me of RAYRAY. Only 92 Days until the first Preseason scrimmage for dem Ravens hon!

HOT!!! - Smitty

May 30th, 2008

Hot.

That about sums up the game in Texas Stadium this past weekend. The field temperature down on the turf around noon on game day was an astonishing 122 degrees. The stadium is pretty sweet and I’ve attached a few pics of us on the “star”.

We started out the game a little slow, but finished strong as usual. Streibs, Springer and Goldberg all put out four-goal performances and everyone else had solid games. Boyle, who coincidently had Dallas quarterback Tony Romo’s locker, quarterbacked our offense and Doc came up big when we needed him. Jed may have broken his hand - stay tuned for details on that. We NEED neddy, hopefully the X-rays come back negative.

Like I said we were put into the Cowboys locker room. No one got TO’s locker, but Doc and some T.O haters took some pretty funny pics at his locker. Big surprise, the smallest kid on the team (me) gets the Cowboys kicker’s locker. Real funny. I wanted a bad-ass locker, like Deion’s old locker, or Roy Williams’.

Anyway, walking through the tunnel and on to the field is a special feeling because you know about all the great players that have walked the same path. Emmitt, Aikman, Deion, Irvin, etc. Walking down the tunnel and looking at the walls, you see huge murals of all the Super Bowls the Cowboys have gone to, along with the years they won.

Our team went to the stadium a little early on Sunday and helped out the local youth teams with a clinic. Luckily, I had the fastest shot station, so I was helping kids with their shooting form and just talking lax with them. I think I hit 96 MPH on the radar gun righty and 94 MPH lefty, but who knows how accurate those things are.

I love seeing the growth of the sport, not only in Texas but when I go out to California to help out with our Adrenaline camps and clinics. The kids in Dallas can BALL, and I think they are some of the hardest-working kids in the country. Maybe because they grew up on Texas steak and whole milk, or maybe because they really want to be recognized as an upcoming “hotbed” of lacrosse. The field temperature was only around 110 degrees when these clinics were going on at 5 p.m., so you can understand how much we were all sweating. I thought Texas was DRY heat? I was mistaken; it’s just as humid as Maryland.

Congrats to the Sea Gulls of Salisbury for taking another title home. Coach Berkman took a team that was virtually wiped out from last year to another undefeated season and faced adversity along the way. Coming off last season, they lost their starting defense, starting goalie, top two d-middies and the Player of the Year Chase Caruso at longpole Midfielder. Congrats to the players and coaches for working so hard to bring the title back again.

Congrats to ‘Cuse: strong program and a great game yesterday to lift them to there 10th school title. It was good to see Hopkins’ Paul Rabil have a breakout career high-game: the kid can shoot and feed! I think he is like a Kyle Dixon but a little faster, and he will do great things in the MLL.

Any predictions on what pick he’ll be on Wednesday? I think he’ll go #1, with Danowski and Leveille to follow.

We’re off to Rochester next weekend for a big game. Cassese is retired, Jed is hurt and we have no draft picks. But something tells me that our Barrage will be just fine. We can overcome just about anything.

Blog:

The garbage are back! We had a pretty stellar game against the Bayhwaks down in VA beach on Sunday. Somewhat Bitter-sweet, considering half of the team noticed that our stuff was taken from our locker room. (ipods, watches, cash) NOT COOL. Especially considering the MLL wants to possibly move us down to VA beach next year?? I think they just shot there self in the foot with that one. Supposedly the doors to the locker room were “locked”, but personally I think it was an inside job from the JV security they had set up.  Luckily, they didnt steal any of my Adrenaline Rasta socks, or prized Jburr hoodie, so im all set.

The drive down to VA beach Saturday afternoon was sweet, great weather, great tunes, and Boyle introduced me to some rather “funky” music. Boyle and I drove from Annapolis and met the rest of the team at practice. We had a great pre-game run through and everyone was ready to get the “traveling circus” started. Que the circus music for our walk out. “da da dana nana not not nana ……“

We went up by 7 or 8 goals early in the game on the bayhwaks but they came back and brought the game to within 4 or so in the fourth quarter. Doc played unbelievable as usual stuffing bugs on about 3 doorstep opportunities. Pete Trombino had a great MLL debut sticking two goals, and bud light MVP Boyle had another great performance while quarterbacking our offense with 3 and 2. Personally I need to play a little better, but 1 and 1 isn’t a bad first game. More importantly we played TEAM ball and got the W.

Now it’s off to Dallas this weekend to “host” the Lizards. We play on Sunday night at the cowboy’s stadium. Pretty pumped about the opportunity to play there I want to get a picture on the star in the middle of the field. We most certainly need to bring our A game, Berger is already talking smack since they got worked against Rochester this past weekend without Brodie!! They are always a tough game for us. They have a strong Defense with Nicky and Gags as the anchors and a great faceoff guy, so it’s going to be a great game. Be sure to watch it on espn360.com at 7PM Sunday night(but if you have Comcast internet service you cant get it, what gives Comcast?? First no ESPN U now no ESPN 360? Weak. )

I’ll check in next week for another “circ-de-garbage” update. Salisbury squeaked by with a thrilling double OT victory against Gburg. Congrats to those guys and to the third string goalie Nick for stepping up and starting in an unusual but not so shocking circumstance. Hopefully I will get a chance to watch the D3 championship in the hotel Sunday before our game. I think it’s on CSTV for all you D3 fans.

Look for HOPKINS and Cuse to advance this weekend and meet Monday in the Final. Hop to win it all.  Also be sure to check out the new Lime and Pink carlsons socks at your local retailer.

Season Begins!!

May 22nd, 2008

HIOOO - I hope everyone had a good Mother’s Day. It’s just LAX LAX LAX right now all over the place.

Our Philly Barrage had final cuts and training camp this past weekend, my sister who plays at Georgetown just ended her season with a devastating loss to Duke, and the Salisbury men and women are dominating like usual.

First and foremost, congrats to coach Jim Berkman on the NCAA wins record. This past weekend he passed longtime great Jack Emmer for all-time wins as a coach. The amazing thing is, he only did it in 21 seasons, compared to Emmer’s 36. His all-time winning percentage is just over 90%, and in the past six years it’s an astonishing 98%. That’s got to beat every other coach at every other sport in NCAA, can someone look into this?? See chart below.

Anyway, I’m pretty pumped about this weekend. We have our whole squad back from last year, including Ian Dingman who is on the special Inactive List for those on military duty. Thanks to Ian and all of his fellow members of the services. Hope to see you home soon, safe and sound. We have little “Navy” stickers on the back of our Cascade Pro 7 helmets!

Sunday afternoon, we play down in Virginia Beach for our first “home” game in a promotional market against the Bayhawks. Coach Tony Resch summed it up perfectly in one of the last emails; “all aboard the traveling circus”.

Ryan Boyle, Jed Prossner, Andy Corno and I were throwing around the idea of taking a limo down to the game, and just having the team bus drop us off in D.C. on the way back; still waiting on some details but that would be a sweet way to roll up to the game.

Boyle was trying to get a ride earlier in the week and asked if there was room on my scooter: real funny. He WOULD want to ride on the back of a scooter with a dude. He WOULD.

Adrenaline is going to be hitting the camp and tournament scene hard this summer, so be on the lookout for a tournament/ retailer near you that’s carrying our SICK new apparel.

I also just got hooked up with Smith Optics thanks to my fellas Gabe and Zack. Smith is a sunglass company based out of SoCal and Idaho. I will be one of there feature sponsored athletes: lots of free shades, banners for my camps, stickers, etc. Be sure to check out the Swag page of an upcoming IL issue for details.

I guess they see that I will be in front of about 10,000+ kids all summer long, in the sun. What better advertising than that?

Have a good week, and look for Navy and MD to win in Annapolis this weekend.

PS- this youtuber will make everyone’s day.

Cinco De Mayo!!

May 19th, 2008

Adrenaline hosted it’s first ever non-lacrosse event on Cinco De Mayo in San Diego at the world famous Casbah. The Casbah is easily the most famous music venue in San Diego and I have to say, Adrenaline held their own! The event provided an opportunity for many different people in the lax industry to get together off the field. Lacrosse players can listen to good music too!

The night began with lacrosse and music folks alike milling around in the several various rooms enjoying the beats of Vin Sol, this year’s San Francisco DJ of the year. By 9:30pm the place was already packed and pro lacrosse were every where to hear the music. Players included were Kyle Harrison, Sean Morris, Lorne Smith, Scott Hochstadt, Todd Eichelberger, Jim Moss, Hamilton Pollard, Alex Cade, and many other MLL faces peppered the scene. The best part about the event was seeing Warrior and STX people together having a good time.

* If you are a music fan and are familiar with the band Spoon then you will be interested in hearing that lead man Britt Daniel even posted!!!!

At 10:30 or so the next act came on and everyone piled in to the dance floor to see the Gray Kid play with Spirit Animal. The Gray Kid has been featured on our web site for a month or 2 and is a young emerging artist who is a friend of Adrenaline. He took the already ripe crowd to the next level and the place went nuts.

Following The Gray Kid was the lead act of the seriously buzzing British band the Heavy, on tour in the U.S. for the first time. Adrenaline Apparel was the first ever promoter to bring the Heavy to San Diego and they did not disappoint. The Heavy is just that…HEAVY!! The already nuts place was out of control listening to the “soul meets hard rock” group who have played Play Boy’s Rock the Rabbit party in San Francisco, LA, and Austin for South by Southwest.

Following the Heavy’s ridiculous performance Vin Sol came back on to take us in to the early hours of the morning. Every one was dancing and the Cinco De Mayo party was a huge success.

Check out the pictures in our brand new media center!
